[LOG — ALTITUDE 330M — TRANSMISSION QUALITY: HIGH]
"When you pray, go into your room. Close the door. Pray to your Father, who is unseen."
No gesture toward the sky. No raised hands for a crowd this size to carry home and describe — and a crowd this size wants a show, if we are honest. He gives them the opposite. He gives them a closed door. The drone, built for open air and long sightlines, drifts a full second with nowhere to lock — the machine-equivalent of a held breath with nowhere to land.
Then he gives them the words.
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name."
Watch what happens to the murmur. It does not rise. It falls — softens into thousands of mouths testing the shape a half-beat behind him, stretching a word they have only ever used for the man who raised them — sweat, flaws, present tense, close enough to smell at the end of a working day — over something that was never anywhere but everywhere. That is the uplink. That is the whole transmission: a signal sent from a hillside in the dirt to something with no ceiling.
"Give us today our daily bread."
The boy's mother closes her eyes on that one. Just for a second. Her hand, on her son's shoulder since Exposure, tightens once — and the frame holds an extra beat on exactly the two of them, as if some part of the machine's programming understands that the bread being asked of a Father is currently sitting eleven rows back, wrapped in cloth gone soft, already spoken for by a hunger nobody has counted yet.
"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."
The man in the patched cloak says debtors like it costs a coin he does not have. Whatever ledger he carries — a brother, a name, a wrong done to him or by him; the story never says and the drone never asks — his shoulders drop half an inch. A weight set down before its carrier has fully agreed to set it down.
Then the turn the whole morning was climbing toward:
"Do not worry about your life. Look at the birds of the air — they do not sow or reap, and your Father feeds them. Are you not worth more?"
And a hawk rides the thermals straight through the frame at the word — a bird of prey crossing a field of prayer — unscripted, unbothered, fed, doing precisely what it was built for without once worrying whether the hillside below had enough.
"Seek first the kingdom, and all these things will be given to you as well."
He looks out over the hillside — really looks, the way a wide-angle catches but cannot replicate, because a camera sees faces and he is somehow seeing people — and his expression changes.
It is not the face of a man about to say something new.
It is the face of a man about to prove something old.
